Just moments ago, the Clinton press office released this official portrait shot of Chelsea Clinton with her mother and her new mother-in-law. At first glance one would say it’s a pretty standard family portrait–but this is actually the first full-length shot of the Secretary of State’s custom-made Oscar de la Renta gown to be made public! A quick check with Mr. de la Renta’s press office reveals the dress is officially described as a “raspberry degrade embroidered silk gazar gown.” Don’t you just love? Not only is it age appropriate, but Hillary looks so youthful and festive! Love the color! It’s not a hue most mother-of-the-brides can pull off, but Hillary does so in her own unique way. I love the gazar wrapped around her shoulder that tucks in right at the clavicle. Very unexpected yet chic! The degrade effect of the lower half of the gown is also well done–it looks refined without being kitschy. All in all, this is definitely one of Hillary’s most outstanding looks of her career.
Stunning, and the bride’s dress is lovely as well. With her hair like that, she has a softer look that really suits her.

That is not her mother in law…it’s her grandmother Mrs. Rodham, Hillary’s mother.
