At a discreet mansion in Bel Air, with tea service accompanied by finger sandwiches and lavender scones, Burberry and Christopher Bailey host a tasteful and appropriately English tea to launch their beauty line.
I spoke to long time make up artist for Burberry, Wendy Rowe to ask about the new line. “The idea is to make it easy for women, a quick easy fix where you Can’t make a mistake”, she said. The palette is tonal with colors that are natural but what she and Christopher found were missing from other brands. She highlighted their super black mascara, which does in fact go on very very black. It is water resistant but not waterproof, so you can’t go swimming but you can expect a full day’s wear without any flaking or run off. This non-technical approach to make up may not be revolutionary but a cohesive line from a legend like Burberry is certainly much appreciated.
I am blogging as I sit in the gardens of this gorgeous setting so I am going to enjoy the rest of my afternoon here and maybe get a chat with Mr. Bailey himself!

I’d love to know what the color shades are shown in the photo!
