Stefano Pilati has one decree when it comes to his new cruise collection: it’s all about the leg. How else to explain the vertiginous emphasis in his designs, which were formally unveiled at the French Consulate in New York? The new YSL girl is a leggy girl, outfitted in prints inspired by YSL archives. Pilati, however, merged multiple patterns into single motifs to create silhouettes reminiscent of Seventies-era YSL magazine editorials: note the floppy hat adorning a skirt. The pieces are certainly bold and have an immense pop to them. But cut in classic shapes and accessorized with belts and contrast piping, it works.
outstanding collection, love it to death!
