Just when you think Oscar de la Renta can’t top his previous collection, he goes and delivers a fabulous assortment of day and night looks that, simply put, dazzles in a fresh and modern manner. The 55 ultra-feminine looks he sent down his runway Monday left no stone unturned in his clients’ pursuits for an every-occasion wardrobe. For day, short tweed jackets came in a myriad of unexpected textures that were trim and tailored juxtaposed against soft, layered skirts. Oscar really excelled with his knitwear for resort, including a breath-of-fresh-air series of chambray, denim and khaki pieces that every woman will be coveting come fall. For cocktail and evening, the choices were simply breathtaking: a stone silk faille dress with detachable overskirt was too gorgeous for words, while the parade of full-skirted ball gowns and elegant columns will look as timeless today as they will 50 years from now.
first collection I entirely adore!
