Oh no! Tell me it’s not the end of Lanvin! Natalie Portman and Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz have always had a famous relationship; she’s truly the embodiment of his feminine, womanly aesthetic. While the two will undoubtedly remain friends, Portman’s reign of wearing Lanvin may be coming to an end. The reason? Portman was recently named the new face of Parfums Christian Dior and is already showing her newfound allegiance to the French label. At last Thursday night’s gala honoring Mike Nichols at Sony Studios in L.A., the stunning actress donned a short guipure lace dress in pale rose from Dior’s Cruise 2011 collection whipped up by maestro John Galliano and recently shown in Shanghai. Portman, who I can’t recall ever having worn Dior in recent memory, chose a terrific number to represent the house. The lace covering is sublime and I love the sweetheart neckline. I also love that she paired the sweet dress with an equally sweet pair of low pumps affixed with rosette accent. Here’s to more of Portman in Dior!
