Given the quality product that Jason Wu continues to produce, it’s no wonder his business continues on the upswing. In what was his largest resort showing to date, Wu was inspired by the style of 1960s French actress Anna Karina. Held at the St. Regis hotel with boxes of macaroons made by Alain Ducasse’s Adour restaurant, that vision translated into a beautiful lineup of chic, graphic graphic daffodil-printed separates and long gowns that were romantic and of the moment. Outsize French jabot collared pieces were part of Wu’s polished package that included gorgeous bias-cut chiffon gowns and elbow-length sleeved flirty dresses. As Wu said backstage, “resort should be like dessert.” I couldn’t agree more.
