Frugal Snob: New from Yes to Carrots

I remember reading a stat in WWD awhile back that said that 40% of adults (men and women), regularly use baby products on themselves. Even as someone who frequently uses baby products and even eats baby food (have you ever tried Plum Organics Fiddle Sticks? Delicious!), I was surprised at how high that number was. I tend to initially find myself gravitating towards baby beauty finds because of the cutesy packaging, but they also usually have a mild (or no) smell and are formulated for very sensitive skin. For anyone in the NYC-area Gracious Home on the Upper East Side as an AMAZING selection. Speaking of which, in addition to a slew of new addition to the main Yes to Carrots line, there is a now a Yes to Baby Carrots line. Jump for some stand-outs from both!

If you’re looking for a super light, greasy, non-heavy cream, you’ll love Yes to Baby Carrots Nourishing Baby Lotion ($7.99). Just beware that the cream comes out with lightening speed so dispense carefully! It has a light, neutral smell and like all the products from this line is 100% natural.

In addition to the Clarisonic, I usually use makeup wipes on my face and eyes, because I find that most creams and liquids either burn or leave residue. The Yes To Carrots Eye & Face Make-Up Remover ($9.99), has just the right density to do neither. It’s quick, very effective, and you need very little of this stuff so the bottle will last awhile.

I don’t do full-body exfoliation unless my skin is dry (ie usually only during the winter-time), but with my frequent summer waxing sessions, I exfoliate my bikini area regularly. Yes To Carrots Moisturizing Body Scrub ($10.49) is perfect for summer-time exfoliation, because it’s light and actually moisturizing, a quality I find to be rare in body scrubs.

In addition to Yes to Carrots, which is formulated for Normal to Dry Skin, the brand has Yes to Tomatoes for Combo to Oily, and Yes to Cucumbers for Sensitive. The Baby line is only in the Yes to Carrots family however.

I’ve tried a bunch of products from this line over the past two years and they’re certainly one – if not the best – drugstore beauty find in their price range. The only products I would stay away from are the Yes to Carrots hair products if you have color-treated hair. I used their shampoo/mask for about a month last year and ended up with an orange-y tint! Stick with Yes to Cucumbers if you highlight/color!
