I was shopping at Saks two weeks ago and the Fendi Fortune Lady Bug Wallet caught my eye. I was indecisive about whether or not to buy it, because I’m not really in the market for a wallet (my mother bought me a Roberta di Camerino wallet for my birthday last month, which she picked-up on a recent trip to Rome. Roberta makes gorgeous over-sized black velvet wallets that can go years before showing any wear!). I went home to look up the wallet online and noticed that it was up on Bluefly, but sold out. Like the diligent shopper I am, I went to the Fendi store the other day and asked why it was already on Bluefly and was told “it’s probably a fake.” Uhhhh…okk….I don’t think that Bluefly has fakes, but alas, I was also told that this was a limited edition for resort 2010 and that the wallet I was holding was their last one so I caved and bought it. When I showed my mother the wallet, her eyes rolled, but I think it’s really cute! Love that it says “Fendi Fortune” and even though I’m not big on the Zucca print, the ladybug makes up for it. What do you think about this wallet?

Check your local department store for availability as stock is dwindling on all three, but Saks, Bloomingdale’s, and Fendi boutiques all stock these wallets.
Listen to your mother. Mother knows best. I love all things lady bug and also love the fuchsia color, but definitely not this wallet… (anyone has any idea on how to do a eyerolling smiley??) :p

Ick! You should return it. I don’t like anything with blatant logos, and the ladybug “stamp” doesn’t really help matters. Stick to your Roberta di Camerino wallet. This looks like something a 1st grader would carry her pencils in.

The wallet is totally over-priced I agree, but I like that it’s more original than the classics. Though Roberta di Camerino is one of the rare brands that makes wallets that are both classic and original..plus I love that every other person doesn’t own something from the brand..
I also think its horrific! The zucca print is SO played out and so often imitated in fake designs. Also the maroon trimming is not very nice.. I have a leather Prada wallet for approx the same amount, or a little less, that I much prefer.
I’m a total sucker for all things ladybug so I’m biased (case in point http://bit.ly/9MazRX) I also like things that are a bit out there and not “obviously” pretty. I vote a not-so-famous Yes.
i don’t think enough people have a sense of humor! this is super cute! and the zucca is perfect on a small wallet– didn’t like the small tote they had, but LOVE this wallet!! you and i have very similar taste!
I think it’s so cute! It has that cuteness to it and pokes a little bit of designer swag as well! Also love the “Fendi Fortune” on there. I think sometimes people are a little to serious. I have a TON of designer handbags/accessories and sometimes I find myself buying into the quirky/cute designs as well, just to have a little bit of humor. TOTAL SNOB!
Also, I had a similar situation with a sales associate and the Bluefly conversation. He also told me that it was probably fake…and I’m thinking to myself-Bluefly doesn’t sell fakes! They probably just wanted to make the commission…jerks!!!

Also, I have a soft spot for Fendi but am not nuts over this collection. However, it’s a wallet, not a handbag. It can be cute/fun/kitschy…why not?
i don’t think it’s cute either… i get being original and such, but the graphic just doesn’t work with the wallet. it’s so out of place, and not really in a good way.
