In an oh-so terrific lineup of day and evening wear, Carolina Herrera had all her bases covered–and then some. With Impressionist colors and technique in mind, Herrera’s resort lineup was perfectly at home with the season’s silhouettes a la the tiered mermaid gowns and sophisticated sheaths that are tried and true house classics. Light and sheer as ever, a delightful parasol print done in shades of pale pink, mint green and sky blue tickled the fancy. Among the highlights: a blossom pink textured organza strapless dress that was both understated and modern; a gray Chantilly lace floor-scraper; a watercolor print gown the designer called “her Monet.” For day, Herrera had something to suit that bill as well: a houndstooth with effortlessly draped lapels coupled with cuffed trousers and matching Manolo Blahnik pumps. We are, after all, talking about a Herrera woman.
