It’s only a matter of time now before Brian Atwood is nominated for the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s Accessory Designer of the Year. Atwood, trained at the house of Versace before branching off on his own, has quietly but strongly developed a cult-like following of shoe fiends who swear by his sexy footwear. Brian never disappoints! Not only does he know his way around a woman’s arches, he’s incredibly handsome and charming to boot–what more can you ask for?
On Monday night, Brian’s delicious creations were seen on both Kate Mara (his date) as well as that of Dakota Fanning, who’s clearly all grown up. Kate wore Brian’s “Cristal” pumps from the FW10 collection Dakota sported the more signature “Alix” pumps from the current SS10 collection. Dakota’s black speckled platform pumps perfectly complemented her ballerina-like Marchesa dress (from the bridal line, no less) while Kate’s feminine and flirty heels (see the back bow design?) nicely matched the shade of her BCBG Max Azria cocktail dress. I love the T-strap design of Kate’s show and the strip of metallic gold that runs the entire backside of the shoe. I’m headed to meet Brian later this week to preview his fall collection, but if this is any indication, I’m sure to be bowled over! Stay tuned to Shoe Snob for a full report on the fall collection.
Cristal, $780, available at Capretto; Alix, $675, available at www.neimanmarcus.com
