Tom Ford can do no wrong in my eyes. Whether he’s creating sexy musk-inspired fragrances (no scent can compare to the distinctive allure of White Suede), or artfully directing a feature film, he’s an absolute genius when it comes to anything involving aesthetics and design. While it’s his foray back into women’s wear that I’m most looking forward to, his new Private Blend Lip Color Collection is a great way to hold all of us fans over.
The 12-shade collection ranges in color from pale, pale “Vanilla Suede” to vampy “Black Orchid” ($45 each). The creamy lipsticks are highly pigmented for deep, dramatic coverage and they’re formulated with soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter, and chamomilla flower oil so they not only look gorgeous, they moisturize and “taste” good when on your lips. I was able to attend a cocktail event in honor of the launch and immediately upon leaving bolted to the restroom at The Mark Hotel where I was meeting a friend for drinks, to try on Moroccain Rouge! Not to be superfluous here, but these are show-stopping lip colors and blame the sexy ad campaign, but I instantly felt sexier when I walked out with my color-saturated new lips.
I was waiting for a review on these….and wow they sound amazing I’ve got to go grab a few any colours to look out for being a must?!
You get all the great events to attend Sharon, hope your well.

You’re so sweet always:)
I really like Moroccain Rouge for my own complexion (pale, pale), but Vanilla Suede has been a favorite for many people I’ve spoken to…nude lips are coming back for this summer I guess! Also, it doesn’t work with my complexion, but the Cherry Lush from the ad might just be the perfect dramatic red (ie not orangy)…the collection really lives up to Tom Ford’s name…Play around, I’m sure you’ll find 2 or 3 that work well:)
I don’t think that the photo is sexy. The absolute best interpretation is that she looks like a blow-up doll and the worst is pornographic. And that photograph is not even the most obscene thing about the campaign because that lipstick is $45! Yes, I know that the new Clé de Peau one is $60. But even if those lipsticks turned every frog you kiss into a prince, it would still be too much money to spend on one lipstick.
Tom Ford’s ads are definitely love or hate…kind of in the way that Terry Richardson’s work is love-hate..no?
It sounds like this lipstick might be worth it! I haven’t tried it yet, but what does everyone else think– does the lipstick get better with price??
If you’re first among your friends to try it out, you might want to apply to be a “glambassador” !! Head to glamalert.com/glambassador to check it out 🙂
