Nicole Miller is always going to have a special place in my heart, because I wore her dresses to pretty much every major occasion in my life up until the age of about 15 (including my Bat Mitzvah!). The designer has withstood the test of time and has even somewhat reinvented herself recently with more edgy runway collections. Now Miller has launched a fragrance, Nicole Miller Eau de Parfum, that ties into that edgier look she seems to be going for (Eau de parfum Sprays at $65 for 1.7 fl. oz. and $80 for 3.4 fl. oz; Shower Crème at $35 for 5 fl. oz.; Body Lotion at $45 for 5 fl. oz. and a Body Crème at $60 for 6.7 fl. oz.). The scent mixes fruit, floral, and woody notes for a bold scent that opens with a blend of cassis, orange, and aldehydes. The heart of the fragrance is yellow gardenia, ylang ylang, orange flower, and hints of violet leaves, while black patchouli and oakmoss, and white cedarwood makeup the bottom notes. It’s a feminine fragrance that works well for Spring and strikes me as fairly versatile in that it’s not too fruity or too floral so it will likely appeal to a wide demographic much like Miller’s designs.
