International Contemporary Furniture Fair 2010

Over the weekend I went to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair at the Javits Center mostly to see the fruits of Hugh Hayden (the designer/architect behind FUNature), and designer/architect Katie Vitale’s latest creation, FRAMEicariums — but ended-up spotting some additional fun finds along the way. With FRAMEicariums, Hayden and Vitale have turned childhood ant-farms into living works of art that showcase the geological excavations of the tunnels formed by ants against a variety of landscapes, vintage magazine tear-outs, and other one-of-a-kind framed images. They will be available for purchase online as of May 19. More finds after the jump!

Anti-Theft Lunch Bags are zipper bags with mold-like green splotches printed on both sides to make the bags’ content look spoiled. These made me laugh out loud…fun way to spice up a lunch box!

SheetSeats are perfect for when you’re having a party. They’re compact seats made from a single piece of wood laminate that folds into a flat panel.
AREAWARE stocks everything from 14K rattles and beautifully designed wooden toys, to original lighting fixtures and pillows.
For more great finds from the fair check-out 3 Rings; they’ll be highlighting some of the stand-outs throughout the week!
