McNeil Consumer Healthcare, the makers of Children’s Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl and Zyrtec have issued a recall on these products due to defects in the manufacturing process that have caused “medical events”, those of which was not disclosed. Too much of one active ingredient was added. Below is a list of exact products with lot numbers listed so you can check if what’s in your medicine cabinet are affected, but I would go ahead and throw everything you have out regardless. The lot number is listed above the brand name on the label (picture left). The best option is to get a generic brand of the same medicine if your child is currently sick, or for that matter, get some just in case. Do not freak out if you have already given some to your tot (like me!), the company said, “the potential for serious medical events is remote”. You can read more about the recall at McNeil’s website.
