While she’s certainly no stranger to Hollywood, Malin Akerman has certainly had her share of less-than-stellar red carpet moments. Hopefully that’s all about to change starting with this darling of a Miu Miu ensemble she wore to the Gen Art Film Festival premiere of her new film, “Happythankyoumoreplease,” at the Ziegfeld Theater Wednesday night. We all know by now that Miuccia Prada has been actively trying to distinguish her Miu Miu label (the brand also happens to be her nickname) from her Prada label. Miu Miu has always been a tad more quirky, colorful and festive–and at those pricepoints it’s no secondary line in my mind. Akerman wore a full Miu Miu Spring 2010 look: a nude/white ricamo silk cap sleeve dress with arancione pailletes and cristalli embroidery, an arancione nappa cloquet clutch with wire floral clasp and nude leather mesh platform pumps. With her sun-soaked tresses, it was all around a great look for her. Don’t you just love the white cap sleeves? They really add some punch to offset the beautiful bead work. I like that the clutch’s bright hue picked up the coloring in the embroidery of the dress. And how about the fact that she went with a girly round-toe pump? In a sea of harsh stilettos, it’s very refreshing!

Very cute. Love her makeup, too.
