Belgian designer Veronique Branquinho may have shuttered her ready-to-wear business last fall, but it’s good to know she’s still keeping busy. Witness one of her latest endeavors: a guest designing stint for Camper shoes. Camper, at least in my mind, has always been a purveyor is comfortable, conservative shoes that certainly never push the boundaries of design. While this pair of leather boots Branquinho designed for fall continues in that tradition, it’s just so stylish and eye-catching that I did a double take! Simply put, it’s a gorgeous ankle boot. I love everything about it: the color of the leather, the side design with stretch incorporated for ease of fit, the meld of pointy-meets-curved toe and the rubbery sole that still manages to look dressy. Best of all? The price: $385. You can’t beat that–especially for Camper quality! In my mind, this boot easily looks like it costs upwards of $1,000. I definitely plan on owning this boot for fall; it’ll look as great with my slim-cut suits as it will with jeans and a sports coat. I have a feeling that I’ll be seeing lots of stylish on-the-go business travelers sporting these boots at airports this fall.
$385.00, available in July at Camper stores
