I usually opt for a sheer gloss with a bit of a pink tint, hint of purple, and no shimmer, but I couldn’t resist trying Lipstick Queen’s Fired Up Gloss ($18) when I was offered a sample since it came with this tidbit: it’s been proven that women who wear red lipstick, smile more often. I certainly smile more often when I have on red Loubie soles, not sure about lipstick, but hey, we all draw our confidence from different places:-) What certainly made me smile however was that this gloss comes with a brush applicator, meaning it didn’t leave my lips sticky and the tube is long, sleek, and slender making it an easy fit for a small purse. Unlike what the color would have you think it really does apply with only a slight hint of red so it’s bright without being pin-up bold. The shade just launched and is available online or try out in person at Barneys New York or Henri Bendel.
