Melissa Vivienne Westwood Shoes: Snob or Slob?

melissa-heart-gold-bm.jpgmelissa-dragon-smoke-bm.jpgmelissa-aurora-gold-am.jpg

These awful looking shoes are the result of a collaboration between Vivienne Westwood Anglomania and Melissa shoes. To Vivienne Westwood’s defense there are pretty much no Melissa shoes that end-up looking particularly attractive. People claim that they’re amazingly comfortable (Melissa shoes are made out of recycled and recyclable plastic), but I find it hard to believe that plastic can be comfortable (though I have never tried a Melissa shoe on so I can’t attest for sure). Comfortable or not however these shoes are hideous!

What do you think about this collaboration? Snob or Slob?

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. SLOB for the Dragon Lady shoes on the left or the ones with the bells in the center, but I have to say, the green, triple-strap mary janes on the far right are not so bad…

  2. I tried a pair of Melissa flats on a year ago at Saks. They were the mary jane look in a flat style. I thought they would be good for pool or beach. OK for casual resort or summer.Didn’t buy.

  3. I bought a pair of the Dragon Lady shoes in Fuschia with a Red heart. The color makes them way more playful than the color pictured here, I’ve had tons of compliments on them when worn with a simple tee & skinny jeans.

  4. I was not sure about jelly shoes coming back, and since they did, and there is nothing I can do about it, would they be comfortable. I saw a cute pair of Melissas, took a chance and bought them. The first couple of days, I had to isolate the tight spots and ready them with bandaids. The plastic warms up, and conforms to the foot. They are more comfortable than many shoes in my closet. Just don’t think you can get away with walking all over the Louvre, or anything like that. They are way cute, and women always stare. The confident ones will ask where I got them.

  5. I like Mellisas, they are the best rainy day options outside of rainboots, and the fact that there are Vivienne Westwood styles available can make any downpour a little more fabulous.
