I feel like I’ve been talking about disproportionally priced bags a lot this week. It just seems like so many bags are wildly over-priced! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against spending $1,000-plus on a bag, but for that price please don’t give me something made out of cotton! And for $600 I expect more than a piece of a fabric and some studs — is that so wrong!? With that in mind, it’s always exciting to come across a contemporary line that gets it right. Well-priced, well-made, AND original. All of the bags pictured above retail for $430 or less and are from an up-and-coming label called Deadly Ponies. I’m particularly fond of the Cage Bag which has a leather base and then these wonderful, kind of Alexander Wang-esque, slashes on one side.

What do you think about this handbag line? Snob or Slob?

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

  1. Great line, good price points, I intend to buy a few when the budget allows.

Interesting finally, some “similiar” designs, but many new ideas

  2. Thank you for featuring this brand! I’ve been in love with their bags for awhile: quality, creative and incredibly well-priced. Great choice, bagsnob!

  3. What’s the matter with me? Am I the only one who thinks the bag where you stick your arm through the flap and call a clutch a shoulder bag is goofy? The half ‘n half bag doesn’t do it for me either since your eye is drawn to each section separately. And each section leaves a weirdly proportioned north/south effect. Okay – the cage bag works. But…?
