Celebrities seem to be really into light/dark color blocking lately. Agyness Deyn is pictured above on the left in a black and white number from Henry Holland’s S/S 2010 collection and the Moschino sandals on the right were recently worn by Solange Knowles. Not loving either of these two looks. Henry Holland seems like a super-fun designer, so I’m sorry to say this but I think Aggy’s dress is pretty hideous! The shoes do have potential — I like the idea of gold and black together; I just wish the shoes didn’t look like a sandal from one angle and a pump from another.
I’m all about contrasting colors, for the most part I just think they work better when they’re blended versus color-blocked.
What do you think about this type of color-blocking?
I get a Two Face (of Batman) vibe. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing.
