We can thank Blake Lively’s stylist for making the half-up curly look one of today’s hottest looks. Leonardo Manetti of ION Studio for Davines styled the hair of the models at the Timo Weiland presentation during NY Fashion Week (the look on the utmost left), and we were able to get some insight on his inspiration as well as some tips on how best to achieve this look! Leonardo created a look inspired by blending the Edwardian Era and
New Romanticism. To get this half-up look, Leonardo first took the front sections of
the girl’s hair and pinned it half way back. Then for the back he
sprayed the hair with Davines Defining Texturizer. To enhance the texture. Next he applied Davines
Defining Volume Mousse to create volume and add shine. Once the
products were applied, Leonardo dried the hair creating voluminous
locks. With a one-inch curling iron, Leonardo took different sized
strands of hair and curled them. To finish, he used the Davines Glam
Power spray, a versatile finishing spray used to set any style
and provide a strong, long-lasting hold without stiffness.
this is such a beautiful look! I’ve tried it, but my hair is too curly so it doesn’t look as good if I just left it dry naturally. I haven’t tried curling my hair yet, but I feel like it wouldn’t look realistic since the curls wouldn’t be like my normal ones (if that makes sense haha)
A beautiful look! My friends wear their hair like this all the time and they look gorgeous. I believe that half-up curly gives you a Greek Godess look. Make sure you match your jewelry!
I love this look. Do you think there is an age limit on the half-up curly style?
