The ‘Lob’ — a long version of the classic ‘Bob’ hair style — is fast becoming one of the hottest red carpet styles. I was first made aware of its popularity at a Pantene event I went to last month and since I’ve been noticing countless celebs rocking it. I actually don’t think I’ve seen Anne Hathaway or Gwyneth Paltrow‘s hair look better than in the photos above — loving the style! For tips on how to best wear this look I spoke with Sarah Potempa, Aussie’s Celebrity Hair Stylist. See what she has to say after the jump!
“The ‘Lob’ can be worn clean and smooth by spraying Aussie’s Opposites
Attract Hairspray and flat ironing large sections. This modern
hairspray will lock in the shine and smoothness by being used as a
styling spray! It also works with natural movement by spraying Aussie’s
Opposites Attract Spray Gel to damp hair, scrunching, and allowing your
hair to air dry,” Sarah says. As for how to wear the style, Sarah told us that “although simple, the ‘Lob’ can look drastically different based on the
part, the length of the front pieces, and your face shape. With a round
face, change the part from side to center to give a chic dramatic look
while keeping the hair longer in front than the back. On a longer face,
cut long bangs or layers around the face to soften this look and try
changing to a strong side part. Either way, this is a classic look that
looks polished and modern.”
I don’t know about this. I think it looks sharp, but the fact that EVERY celeb seems to be getting this cut lately is enough to make me steer clear of the hairdresser’s for a while. I think Gwyn looked best with her goddess/hippie hair…..
I think it’s supposed to be a long version of the bob. Not short version. Hence, LOB.
Sorry typo! Long is what I meant!
Great information! Thanks.
Love this style.
