Frugal Celebs: Hollywood Intuition for Target

One of the good things about living in a boring place like Ithaca, where I lived for four years while I was at Cornell, is having easy-access to Target’s designer collaborations. Whereas in major cities/online the few covetable items would fly off the shelves, I could always leisurely shop in the Ithaca Target. Even, a handful of years later, I still wear some accessory finds from their collaboration with Behnaz Sarafpour. Now Target has partnered with Jaye Hersh, owner of the Los Angeles celeb-fave boutique, Intuition, to launch their latest accessories collaboration, Hollywood Intuition. Paris Hilton, Jenna Dewan, and Amanda Bynes have already snatched-up bags from the collection which just hit stores and the web a few days ago. Overall the bag selection is not as good as past collaborations — most styles are too simple for my taste — but I’m liking the belt bags pictured below especially in the green shade. I could totally see myself heading out for a casual night or to run some errands when all I need is my phone and money wearing it. As for the faux-skin one next to the belt bags, it made me think of the frugal girl’s Adriana Castro Meissa Python Hobo in natural! The prices, of course, are hard to beat —  none of the bags retail for over $29.99 and Target’s quality always trumps H&M, Kohl’s or any of those other retail outlets that do designer collaborations (The Wall Street Journal actually investigated this). For anyone looking for a non-trendy, affordable bag I think the collection is definitely worth check-out. What do you think about the Hollywood Intuition line?

  1. hee.

target is relatively new to ithaca. you got lucky to have not been there before.

i sometimes forget how boring ithaca can be to big city girls/folks.

interesting tip though as it use to be impossible to find in a smaller city/town what one saw advertised/highlighted in the magazines-sometimes at all, sometimes if ever.

  2. Yes was very lucky seeing as I basically lived in Target (and we don’t even have one in NYC!). I think it actually opened the year before or even the year I got there (I didn’t learn how to drive/get a car till I was a Sophomore)…They had a great selection of Behnaz (got the headbands, jewelry), Proenza (was able to get corset top), Paul & Joe (got blazers in multiple colors)..

  3. I will check them out. I bought a small bag from the Devi K. , but have never carried it. The style was good, but the material, the bag was made of looked pretty cheap. I have passed on other collections. To me. I can go with the clothing designs at Target, more than the bags .But then, I’m a BAGSNOB. (:

  4. The snake print tote looks like it trying to be the exact replica of the Beirn Jenna tote. I don’t mind when a bag looks a bit like another bag, but not a complete copy cat!
