My first reaction to these shoes was eeck! But after seeing them paired with a sleek suit, I’m kind of loving the Fred Astaire meets Michael Jackson look of these Christian Louboutin Fred glitter lace-up shoes ($595). I’m curious what others think because I know there has been a lot of sequins and sparkle in street fashion lately. It’s been a trend for awhile now, but with MJ’s unfortunate passing there has been an acute surge (I can’t go one night without counting at least 20 sequin tops or jackets!). Have you been wearing more sparkle as an homage to the king of Pop? Would you invest in these shoes?
No. Unless you’re deliberately going for butch or perhaps for a skinny, snake-hipped androgynous vibe there is no getting away with a brogue, glitter or no glitter. See, even in the picture, they got a woman with no hips or breasts to wear them.
I am all for the sequin/sparkle trend, but I just don’t think it works on these shoes! There is WAY to much sparkle and they kind of remind me of a sneaker version of the ruby slippers. As for the price, well, I can think of a few more Christian Louboutin’s that I would rather spend that kind of money on!

I actually love these. I have my own pair of glitter ballet flats. Not this pricey, of course.
I have been sporting the glitter look for a while now – it is all over the streets of Copenhagen. I would love to wear these, but the price – ough!
I absolutely LOVE them! Want and need them!
VERY 80s, but not my style. I prefer a heel.
I love these and bought them to wear with my flannel and grey tweed suits but OY are they tiny. Normally I’m a 9 and even the 91/2 was too small. Sadly, I must return them.
