What the heck are you looking at you ask? Why it’s a young Chinese internet addict receiving an electroencephalogram check at the Beijing Military Region Central Hospital. What is an electroencephalogram check? It’s an (EEG) test to investigate electrical activity in the brain. The camp costs $1,200, four times the average monthly income in China. Who’s the crazy one here? The kid who likes to surf the internet a little too much or the parents who’d put them through this boot camp!?!?

it’s unbelievable!
The Chinese have strange ways of disciplining their children…
Perhaps there is a genuine medical indication, such as seizures, which can be induced by too much time in front of a screen. (never mind my medical degree, there was that episode in House) I would think Chinese parents are not unique in sacrificing money and putting their children forward for a test which helps to diagnose whether or not their child has epilepsy, a potentially fatal disorder.
