Bally has the market on casual cool bags and shoes thank to Creative Director Brian Atwood. Prior to his arrival, I equated Bally to classics my Grandmother and Aunts coveted. Not that he’s totally changed the DNA of the brand but he’s added a youthful vibe that has been embraced by core clients and new (celeb included) clients alike. The price point of its bags are also a selling point, made in Italy doesn’t mean thousands of dollars have to change hands! For summer, a colorful and fun bag is in order; the gathered nappa bag (soft calfskin) in grey blue has me happy just looking at it (41cm). The tortoise shell square handle must be handheld as it is not so comfy slipped on the arm (I tried) but it’s part of the look of the bag so just go with it. I usually don’t like detachable shoulder straps but the tortoise shell detail is carried through on it which is very elegant and makes it functional as a travel/shopping bag, too. Both colors are fabulous and remind me of when I first got pregnant and didn’t know if I was having a boy or girl, I stared at baby pink and baby blue for hours in anticipation!
