When I went to Paris for the S/S 2009 shows Emanuel Ungaro was one of my favorites — the colors and styling always put a big smile on my face! This season however I’m having a hard time deciding what to make of the two-toned lips MAC makeup artist Tom Pecheux is responsible for. He painted the models’ lips fuchsia then added bright orange just to the top lips. It’s obviously very 80s inspired, but Glamour Magazine had a chance to speak with Pecheux and he said that he did his best to make the look modern by pairing the bold lipstick with a bare-looking face. This kind of reminds me of that episode of Sex and the City where SJP goes to LA and wears the same shoe, but in different colors on each of her feet..loved that (and have done that myself!), not so sure about this. Would you wear this out in public? I vote snob for the runway, slob otherwise.
Well not so sure if it’s snob. In certain environments I think it can work… like the club or a “haute” event. For someone like Tom Pecheux I’m sure it is a challenge for these guys to do something new. Simply because most things have already been done. So I applaud him for thinking outside of the box.

Nope, not for me!
I think it’s purely for theatrical purposes.
I agree Sharon, snob for runway, slob for IRL
While I agree that I wouldn’t do my grocery shopping in this makeup, as far as a night on the town- I am all about this look. Infact, I’m going out tonight and I plan on trying it 😉
If I saw someone wearing lipstick like this in real life, I might laugh at them. Agreed. Snob for runway…total slob (fashion victim)otherwise.
I have to agree with Anne, this would be a fabulous fun look for a night on the town
Fine for runway, but probably wouldn’t last through a night of talking, eating and drinking — Even if it’s done matte – it’ll probably smudge a little and just look messy.
If I am brutally honest, I think it looks awful for any occasion.
I LOVE, love, love this look. That said, I could pull this off for about 15 minutes (unless it was tatooed on). I have to agree w/ Cindy that this lovely look would quickly smear — or wear — away. But I still LOVE it. Snob, definitely.
SURE! I don’t see why not to wear it. It seems easier than a red lip. Plus, upper and lower lips will probably mingle together throughout the day and become one color.
