Mulberry Jenah Tote

I am hot and cold with Mulberry, I used to like the Bayswater bag but I am tired of it since they keep coming out with the same version season after season. But this tote is getting me hot again, the mix of pebbled leather, suede and metallic is interesting without being gimmicky. They are all the same shade of off white but because of the differences in materials, it become tonal for added depth and a subtle change in consistency. The color is a warm tone and not a glaring white white so it can easily transition to Fall. I love the giant pocket in suede and the hardware closure adds the perfect touch. It is all function, great for work, school, travel and play but don’t call it a carry-all or never-full, you are getting way more style and fashion than your basic utilitarian tote. The metallic straps and side buckles are adjustable to suit your load, which is always a plus. I do admit there is a bit of Balenciaga Cherche in this, maybe that’s why it is so cool, but there isn’t enough of a similarity to confused the two. The Mulberry Mixed Materials Jenah Tote at Shopbop for $1395.

  1. I don´t see much of the Balenciaga bag here. What I do see is a tremendous effort to change to something that will be a best-seller like the Bayswater bag. The price is not bad and the color is ok, but the mix of leathers is not to my liking, especially when it is on the front. A good try, but I´m not buying this one.

  2. I love it! I agree that the different textures give it a ton-sur-ton appeal. A versatile bag that’s all about understated glamour.

  3. I wonder what it would look like in a chocolate shade? The off white is very useful for season changes though, but I think it’s a bit boring.

  4. i would really like it if the awkwardly skin-toned piece on the front was a different shade, maybe the metallic.
