Left: See by Chloe Ring Around Hobo, $595. Right: Jimmy Choo Saba Animal Hobo, $2195.
If you like the Saba, which I do but if you are having the same resistance to the price that I’m dealing with, you should consider the See by Chloe Ring Around Hobo. OK, fine, it’s not the same and I do not believe in look-a-likes and knockoffs but this is more of a similar look and feel rather than an exact copy. What I love about the Saba is the super loose hobo shape, which the See by Chloe has. The bracelet rings, it is a bit too close for comfort – that is the only part about the similarity that really bothers me. I can actually do without them but then again, without them, the bag is a basic blob. As you can tell, I am not totally sold but this is just an example of how you can get the same type of look from a real designer without throwing down the big bucks. Last season the Saba went to 30% off, which was not enough, maybe this season it’ll be 75% off like with everything else these days. Both at Saks Fifth Avenue, See by Chloe Ring Around Hobo for $595 and Jimmy Choo Saba Animal Hobo for $2195.
Does anyone notice how long the drop of the See by Chloe hobo bag is, making the apperance on one’s shoulder quite unattractive. For ergonomics and proportion, I’d still buy the Saba.
I like the price of the See but the Saba’s design is much more appealing to me. It’s very stylish and just has that something that pulls the eye to it. An unexplainable sense of style.
I do not like this bag at all. It looks cheap and nasty and a tad common. The shape, colour etc are decidedly off in a big way. I do not know why the Choo designers repeatedy put these gharsly togs around the handles they cheapen the bag even more. This is for the lady who wears leopard print during the day with high black sling back shoes, hair straightened and surgically enharnced. Not the bag for smart New Yorkers or Londoners come to think of it. Nasty
i love the python Saba version as seen in the print ad. It simply looks expensiveand handy given the volume it has. I must say Choo is stepping up its bag game. Whereas See by
Chloe…hmmm, I’m not quite sold to this sister brand of Chloe. It seems as tho the collections were designed by a bunch of assistant deisgenrs at chez Chloe which basically lacks that it-factor. I’d rather go for French Connecion which is almost the same style with a lot more affordability. Opps..im off da topic again
The Chloe looks cheap and i would not pay $100 for it as the plastic rings look like toys. The Saba is the clear winner here. The snake ring is a nice classy touch and I love how roomy the Saba is. However, not worth $2,195 for me. Will probably consider it for under $1,200.
I managed to snag the exact same Choo Saba at 50% off. This is my first designer bag purchase and I am absolutely thrilled with it 🙂
