Diane is a designer that really does her homework, each season and each collection is distinctive and new. She is the queen of the wrap dress but she does not fall back on the tried and true. That’s what I would do, right? Selling millions of wrap dresses, just keep them coming!! For runway, this collection was dramatic and worthy of my trip to New York to see it in person. So many textures, prints and colors all mixed up, like camouflage and leopard print! I am not one for camouflage or leopard but strangely together it is like two wrongs make a right. Leopard tights!! Hello, I must have. The chunky knits with flowy skirts and oversized jackets – it is like DvF’s mantra of a strong woman who has both sides of the coin covered. For ultimate flare, she has a gunmetal tinsel coat that is over the top with glitz but still totally wearable.
For evening, the simple sequin shift tee dress in “cosmo” blue is young, hip and HOT!! I wore something like this for my 21st birthday and who says I can’t do it again at my age? But the sex bomb of the show is the metallic ombre luquid jersey gown with asymmetrical neck line and forgiving waist. Well, that fabric is not forgiving but with spanx everything will be fine. The way it flowed and moved like liquid metal, everyone was like a deer caught in headlights as it went by. We were also invited to the dinner after party which was so much fun! Tina and I ate, drank, mingled and felt like little kids with innocent glee and excitement For one thing, my all time idol Diana Ross was there!! I mean, for the fashion obsessed it doesn’t get better than this! Well, stay tuned, our week is not over =)
