This is the first Louboutin bag worthy of serious consideration. His previous bag collections were not really designed as bags, they were an extension of his shoe collection – bags that really wanted to be shoes. This however, is a bag conceived and designed as a bag and kudos for hitting it big. No gimmicks here. Well, he is obviously talented and when he puts his mind to it, he knows how to make women swoon. As with the platforms we love, this bag isn’t some outrageous showpiece number, it is classic and sophisticated with subtle details that make it extraordinary. The big pleat softly graduates to the slouchy bottom and the sides are scrunchier pleats that are held with a simple hardware ring (sorry, couldn’t find an image that shows it). The top has two zippers that meet in the middle and the handle is old school basic – all these small perfections add up to one incredible bag that will make you love it more each day. This nude is a bit bland but utilitarian and actually quite beautiful in its total nudeness – it does come in brighter shades but they’re not in stores yet. As a matter of fact, this is a pre-order item and won’t ship until February but you should order it now if you want it, this will sell out for sure. At Neiman Marcus for $1995.
