I absolutely LOVE the Noce Ostrich but not enough to part with $5700 to have it. Well, this iconic woven version has the same interesting shape and is obviously less expensive because it’s leather for $2100. I love this mustard yellow, big bright neon 80’s yellow is the trendy color of the season – I don’t know about you but I do not see the color of a bus being a part of my investment worthy collection, like a Bottega Veneta. And that yellow is just that, trendy, meaning by Fall you will be doing the “What was I thinking?” speech to yourself. And if you want to stop traffic, trust me a big nice muted yellow bag will still get it’s fair share of attention. And wouldn’t you want the comments to be “Wow, awesome!” rather than “Wow, gruesome!”? Saks Fifth Avenue has a bunch of new Bottega Veneta bags now. This Noce Woven is a pre-order item expected to ship in April, but they always ship much sooner than they say (they ever estimate cuz they understand the wrath of disappointed high maintenance girls!).
I saw this bag at BV on Rodeo. It is the exact same bag as the ostrich one that I bought after it was reviewed by Tina. The bag is beautiful in woven leather. I agree that the color of the bag is not something that I would buy. I think that it would be better in brown or black. I no longer buy bags that are trendy, but rather invest in classic bags that will not go out of style!!
I like this color(mustard yellow). I don’t usually buy classic colors like black or brown.A lovely colored handbag stands out more in my opinion.
I don’t know about you (Tina/Kelly) but I have traveled extensively and lived in Europe,North America and Asia but have never seen people as stylish as the Italians…they really know how to mix colors/dress effortlessly chic.
Let’s not even go into all the wonderful Italian brands:Bottega Veneta,Fendi,Gucci,Prada, etc…to die for.
i’d totally get this in white/black/brown! okay maybe not white because i’d ruin it! 🙁
I have never been a fan of these woven bags. I just do not find them appealing at all.
If I’m not mistaken, this bag is the San Marco (comes in one strap or 2). According to an SA, this design was made about 10 years ago, and BV has revived it once again recently. I guess that speaks of the brand’s timeless designs… It’s just a nice surprise that they’re coming out with different versions of this bag again. Aside from the ostrich version, I think the one with the croc strap was lovely, too.
I would have to agree with Lori. Not my style either.
Kelly – This bag is not the Noce Woven. Noce is a color name, for the walnut brown as in the Ostrich bag. It is the San Marco as mentioned above. That error aside, I am not a fan of yellow bags in any shade. So this one will not be added to my collection. However, the leather used in this one is goat and no one does goat like BV!
Kelly, I love this bag in ostrich when Tina first reviewed it but could not bring myself to spend that much. This is a nice option, thanks!
Oops, you’re right! Serves me right working in the middle of the night. I usually call to check all my facts but didn’t do it for this one.
Kelly
I’m not disappointed with its bare appearance but its look falls short to its price 🙁
