My favorite restaurant in Taiwan is Ding Tai Fung, a specialty restaurant that serves steamed dumplings that are without debate the best in the world. The original is in a really old and not so nice building but now that they have branched out, their newest restaurant is super swanky and ultra nice, and as if I needed more incentive to love this place, they now provide a table side bassinets for your precious bags! They even bring a cloth napkin to cover the bassinet to keep spills and splashes from soiling your bag. Hanging your bag on your chair (that is, if you even can) puts it in danger of being knocked off by passers by and / or having food spilled on it, not to mention having it stolen if you are not watching it intently the entire time. Even the hooks under the table is not always the best solution, some bag handles don’t fit and having it dangle next to your leg is not exactly relaxing and comfortable. And forget about putting it on the floor, yuck! And for your jackets that you drape over the back of your seat, they protect that too with a chair back cover. Now that is good, considerate service with the yummiest meal to boot! Now the question is, how do we get all restaurants to provide these?
By the way, that is my Tod’s softy in teal sleeping sweetly in there. It is the BEST travel bag especially with 2 kids in tow. I have completely destroyed it and will now need to have it conditioned. If you need a hold-all that is ultra comfortable, this is it.
