I have a new obsession and everyone who gets in my way suddenly has fabulous curls in their hair. Yes, I made my 3 year old daughter sit there and let me style her hair, I was so compelled to do so that I bribed her with chocolate. This new blow dryer from Remington called the Emi Airwave is incredibly fun and amazing! There is a funnel contraption at the end of the blowdryer (you get the entire system, attachments and blow dryer) – you feed 1 inch strips of hair through while your hair is wet. It spins the hair in there and creates luscious curls while it is drying. It twists them into spirals and when you loosen them, your hair is perfectly wavy! Totally ingenious! You end up with hair like Blake Lively in Gossip Girl – messy windblown curls with ringlets throughout. Well, it takes a bit of practice to get it to look that way. Here are some helpful hints:
– The smaller the hair segments, the tighter the curls, so experiment to get the look you want.
– Do the top of the head segment separately from the bottom that is closer to your neck. This will allow the curls to start closer to the roots.
– Make sure you allow the ends to twirl in the funnel or they will end up straight. Get the twisting going first and then move the dryer to the ends. When the ends are dry, move up to the roots.
– Leave the spirals in for a few minutes before you loosen them, this will set them in.
– Use some sort of control product beforehand so the curls will stay longer.
– Keep some smaller spiral segments intact to get that messy but coifed look.

This looks incredible! I totally want to try this out.
Can you post pics of how your hair turned out??
Wow, this sounds amazing, do you know if they’re available in 230V – I’m in Europe 🙁
Wow, this sounds like it might be exactly what I need 🙂 Do you know if this is available for 230V for us European readers?
hi kelly, does this work on short hair?
Just got this. It’s genius!!!!!!! I have shoulder length wavy hair. I usually have to let it air dry (which takes forever) and then I have to use a curling iron in spots that don’t want to cooperate. I read about this and went out to get it. I really didn’t expect much, but was I surprised! It’s crazy easy to use and my hair looked great! I ended up with perfect looking waves. I’m in love with this thing!
I bought this and I almost love it except for one issue. On one side of my head all the curls flow back, on the other side they go forward so it is kind of strange. Does anyone else have this problem? I have tried holding it in different positions, twisting the funnel and nothing changes. Can anyone help?
I have mid length hair (not quite to my shoulders) staighter than a stick and have used this and it DOES actually create the most amazing curls! It did take a little bit to figure it out, since my hair is a bit on the shorter side, the hair strand would often come out of the intake thing, but now i hold it to get the ends nice and curly – it’s perfect. I have to say time consuming though, I only did the top layers and that took easily a good half hour! When I have the time and want amazing looking hair this is may most favorite product! I also use the KMS sea salt spray and gosh beach spray to help it along! Totally worth every penny!
They do have them in Europe, but they are called the Spin curl instead of the air wave 🙂
I have been searching canada, us and uk… even called the manufacturer who said they discontinued this in both the uk and the states 🙁
can anyone tell me where i may get one?? my hairdresser found a similar one called west trends from germany at a hair show but won’t part with it, and neither of us can find it or another one!
HELP Please! many thanks in advance
