(sorry for the really poorly photoshopped pic)
I just got back from my trip and the one of the best things about being a blogger is the freedom! I can be anywhere and can work anytime of the day, it is the best because I hate being tied down. I have been looking for a smart phone so that I can keep connected with emails and live blog, so of course the Apple iPhone was on my short list of options. The thing I could not stand is the touchpad keyboard. I know everyone says that you get used to it but I had been playing with my husband’s phone for months now and I still can’t type properly, I keep hitting the key next to the key I want, it is so frustrating!! And most of my errors were so extreme that the auto spell correct couldn’t fit it. I then heard about the G-1 and decided that this was my best option, it has all the feature I needed AND it has a full keyboard. The internet connection is amazingly fast! And with all the free wireless connection everywhere now, I am able to get super fast connectivity for super blogging. I did a couple of stories using this phone. The only thing I can’t do is take a picture with the phone and upload it to a blog entry so for the AMA red carpet story, I had to email it to my hubby and he uploaded it for me. But the picture quality is great! Since I am always out and about and on the road, this phone allows me to be fully functional as if I am on my computer (now I don’t have to lug my computer around). I can check emails, look things up on the internet, manage all the Snob sites and whittle time away with really fun games =) My favorite feature? The instant syncing with Google mail, contacts and calendar. Whatever I do on my computer just shows up on my phone like magic, without having to do anything. Now my life as a free wheeling blogger can continue without missing a step.
Yay welcome to the club. I can’t wait for the early 2009 update of the on-screen keyboard!
I love open-source!
and LOL @ the photoshopped pic! At first I thought the screen was lopsided!
Why not a blackberry Kelly? I have tried a lot of smartphones and the crackberry is the best!
My friend works for Google and was testing the phone earlier this year. I still haven’t gotten a chance to check it out, but man…. Google is taking over.
i have the G1 also and I love it, but I can’t imagine blogging from it! i do find the keyboard relatively easy to use, but it gets tiring after a while – i got really frustrated during a chat, i had to resume it when i got home…i too love the instant sync with gmail, and while i’m waiting for appointments, or whatever, i catch up on my google reader. fabulous phone!!
