De Beers Radiance Sun Ring

If the economy was better and I had an extra $12,500, I know what I would do with it. Or even if I just had $12,500 that wouldn’t be missed, I can overlook the economy thing. It is always a good (or bad) thing to go shopping with friends who have totally different tastes and ideas of what shopping is about. Last Friday, I went with a friend who wants to see what she can’t buy, whereas, I only go into stores where I know I can come out with a bag full of stuff. So we are in front of De Beers and she wanted to go in. I have family in the jewelry business so I buy jewlery at wholesale (which is less than half of retail) and I had no interest in going in to De Beers but as a good friend, I followed along. This is where the “bad” comes in, I am now am pining for this ring that I would have never known about and would have been totally fine living an existence of ignorant bliss. The thing is, this is a cocktail ring, not an investment piece. But it is so freaking spectacularly amazing!!! You cannot tell from a static picture which does it injustice, but the petals are not stationary so they move, not in circles rotating around the center stone, but they flutter up and down as you move your hand. This is so unique and not something that can not be easily imitated and knocked off (it would not be worth it). I don’t wear a lot of jewelry so this is the perfect piece for me. Not at all serious but packs a walloping punch when it comes to impact. It has around 2.6 total carats in diamonds (all low quality – G color and VS) but is very blingey when you see it. This is such a poor investment (I keep telling myself this) and cannot be justified but is one of those things that I just have to have!! My 5th anniversary is coming up! At De Beers for $12,500.
