Bird: egg-laying feathered vertebrate, British slang for GIRL.
While shopping around at Bergdorf’s, I stumbled upon the Bird line of handbags and found more than a few pieces to lust after. Designed by Liz Carey (Model/Rock n roll wife turned Mother/Bag designer); the collection is comprised of exotic skins and ethnic fabrics including ostrich, snakeskin, lamb, and traditional Guatemalan wedding shirts. The stunningly colored skins and fabrics are manipulated into chic shapes that have already become a hit with celebrities and trendy Los Angeles boutiques. Professing a love for “rich hippies,” Liz’s collection has an unpretentious elegance. The pieces are all one-of-a-kind fashioned from gorgeous materials collected from all over the world, and handmade here in the U.S.A. The Snakeskin One Night Stand clutch featured above is handmade, lined in suede and fashioned with an ostrich leg handle. I love the whip stitching around the handles; it showcases both the ostrich leg handle and the gorgeous natural python skin which is supple and sooooooo soft! $1925 at Bergdorf Goodman 1-800-558-1855 or check Bird Handbag site for more retailers.
Snake again! Not liking it. Nor am I fond of the Bird bags in general. I think they are meant for younger women. Actually I think that it looks quite funny to see someone about 20 carrying an expensive designer bag. The Bird bags could be an option.
so glad you finally deemed Bird bags snob worthy! I have been wanting one forever!!
very nice… I’m curious Tina, is the handle made literally from ostrich leg? How is that crafted? very interesting!
love you! <3
glad you made a post about this brand! i mentioned it earlier this week in the discussion about lesser known bags. this isn’t my favorite of theirs (i can’t handle natural python) but the designs are a nice mix between chic and whimsical.
Amazingggggggggggg, it’s somehow similar to this one http://www.diadiwan.com/global-souk/product/nadas-2nd
