A Non-Spooky Halloween

img62m.jpgI’ve never been a huge fan of Halloween — at least not the spooky part of it. I love the fun, cute little candies and stuffed animals and I LOVE seeing all the wonderful costumes that people come-up with! I actually live right near a Pottery Barn Kids and they have the most adorable costumes in their windows right now (think — Organic Banana and Bumble Bee:-) ), but I’ve also picked-up some wonderful decorations and Halloween-themed knick-knacks these past few weeks. But before sharing some cute finds with you I thought I’d let you know about some great tips I got from celebrity party planner Marcy Blum. She has some suggestions to make your Halloween environmentally-conscious. She suggests using recyclable dinnerware, candles made out of soy or beeswax, serving Kopali Organic SUPERGOOD SUPERFOODS which come in flavors like Chocolate-covered Bananas, Gojiberries, Espresso Beans and Mulberries, and drinking Pure Teas from Bombilla, which come in Oolong, White, Green and Jasmine flavors (they have 90% more antioxidants than traditional teas — a nice relief from all the sugar that comes with Halloween treats!). When it comes to decoration, if you have a house I love these Solar Powered Halloween Lights — such a cool way to teach kids about being energy efficient Read-on for some more great Halloween finds!

The Brickhouse Locator with Distance Alert is essential for a worry-free trick-or-treating experience with your little one.

I like this Play-Doh Halloween Ghost and Pumpkin 2-pack because the 2 actually look friendly and playful..plus they’re a fun distraction from candy:)

Out of all the Halloween-themed items I’ve seen I’ve gotta say this Mr. Potato Head Trick or Tater is my favorite…I love that with all the high-tech stuff out there, kids can get in the Halloween spirit and still have fun with something as classic as a Mr. Potato Head. Happy early Halloween!
