I am conflicted over the Ruffled Clutch bag from Prada for Fall. It’s not the most hideous thing I’ve seen but something about it is really odd. I almost want to like it because I think Miuccia is so creative and amazing and the ruffles are kind of delicate and pretty in a strange way but at the same time– it reminds me of Dumbo ears which is just too hard to ignore. I feel like the bag is going to fly off at a moment’s notice! There are also matching shoes, in case the flaps on the bag are not enough to allow you to float into the open air, click these suckers together and I bet you end up where ever you want to. By the way, Prada ready to wear kicks ass this season– but none of which I would wear with this. Prada Bag $1,695, Shoes $895 both at Saks.com. This is a bag you’ll either love or hate, so I want to know– Snob or Slob?
I didnt like it at first, I think due to the strap kinda falling in the pic you posted Tina, however if you click onto the neiman site, you get a better look at the bag, I think I like it…its diff. 🙂
How fascinatingly peculiar (that is if you can put the two words together!). I’m undecided on these and never been into Prada anyway but I do appreciate the creativity.
it is strangely appealing but I would not buy it.
eiww, google added their ads to your site,I can see a horrible Chanel knock off under that Prada bag! It’s odd indeed, not my style and the colour looks bit granny.
While the ruffles themselves look nice I think have them seperated with the square in the middle is why the bag as a whole doesn’t work for me.
Slob, slob, slob. It’s a mutant of a bag.
Prada now makes wonton? I hope its the kind with pork and chives, yummy!
I like the bag just fine – it’s pretty decent for Prada. I just hope the shoe wasn’t as literal when it was shown after the runway show. They usually aren’t, but who knows? I clicked through to the NM site but I couldn’t find the shoe on there.
BS Kelly; you’re absolutely right. It is the Wonton Bag, only I don’t want one.
the ruffles look like fins and i have the sudden urge to harpoon the thing to put it out of its misery!
SLOB! there is a very thin line between avant-garde and fugly and prada always manages to cross it! and why does prada always match their grotesque bags to an equally repulsive pair of shoes? paris fashion week aside, where does one wear this crap?
I give up- if I had a white flag I’d be waving it. Prada, I’m giving up on you and probably not coming back. What I loved most about you is gone and I guess it just took me time to realize it.
I hate the bag, but LOVE the shoes. Sometimes creative ideas don’t translate from one accessory to the other.
LOL@Kelly, it just needs a little sweet and sour sauce and it’d be the perfect accessory.
I’m not usually a Prada fan however I love it…very creative but not over the top!
U. G. L. Y., you ain’t got no alibi…..
I’m an X cheerleader, what can I say!
Slob. I don’t like it, not creative at all.
OMG, so funny! Prada wantons.
Speaking of wantons– I am going to LA on Monday– I want to have some spicy hot oil wantons!

Sorry Tina, that place closed =(
Love, Kelly
ugh, fugly!
Maybe the shoes are not so bad worn at a costume party?
The ruffle bag, in the tote style, is GORGEOUS in real life. I didnt even like Prada anymore and I really wanted to shell out for it.
Slob!
I hate the shoes and I hate the bag! I totally agree that it looks like a wonton.
Ugh, horrible. It looks like a leather cuttlefish.
I appreciate the creativity of it. I won’t buy it because of the price, but it could be a fun evening look. I would be curious if knockoffs happen.
I have some classic Prada bags I will always carry. It seems Prada has kinda lost it lately. The leather does look nice. I would like to see it on Neimans website. Also sometimes a bag looks better in person as you can really see the quality of the leather. The shoes are really OUT THERE!! At this point its a NO!!
Fugly.
And you know why? It looks like both of them have GILLS for Chrissakes. Who in the hell would go out in something that looks like you stuck your arm or your foot through a fishmonger’s leavings? Ugh.
I’m all for layers (see that really sci-fi red Louboutin bag you showed recently, which was weird but very architectural-cool) but *yurch*.
slob slob slob
Hmmmm. The fist thing I think of is fortune cookie. Wouldn’t buy it in any color.
I LOVE this bag and must have it. I am amazed by what Prada did with the soft ruffles – stunning. What amazes me even more, are people that do not understand ruffles!
The Prada “Ruffle”design bag is delicate yet sturdy for actual use and the shoes are unique, with feminine beauty. They both have a 30/40’s era quality with a hip, gotta have it,look.
I find these “Dumbo Ears and Wonton” analogies simple. Look at these as wearable art to express yourself.
