Spotlight on ModelCo

I made the most amazing discovery when I was out in the Hamptons the other weekend. I was at this club Dune which is one of the hottest spots out there (Memorial Weekend I spotted Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli!), and I’m sitting at this table when next to me one of my girlfriends busts out this Lip Gloss from ModelCo that has built-in lights and a mirror!! When in any crowded or dim space you can imagine how great something like this is — not to mention how high-tech chic and glam she looked!!:) It’s been a longtime since I’ve been this excited about a line. ModelCo is an Australian-based brand started by a former model agent and it’s made, they say, for the style conscious and time-crunched woman, which I can totally see in their product line-up which is full of quick-fixing and multi-purpose products. You can browse their products here and jump for a rundown of my favorites!!

Of course, gotta talk about my favorite product first. I L-O-V-E Lip Lights Ultra Shine Lip Gloss ($23). The lights go off as soon as you turn open the gloss and the brush is super soft (the gloss is on the sticky-side and has a hint of glitter which is nice for a lil shimmer).

lash%20and%20brow.jpg

Lash and Brow ($42) is another “high-tech” product. It looks just like your run-of-the-mill mascara wand, except when you take it out it’s a comb which you apply nightly to your lashes and eyebrows after cleansing to enhance brow hair and lash growth. This is key for any over-plucking mishaps…

EYELIQUIDBUDS.jpg

I’ve been back-and-forth between Southampton and the city all summer so I’m all over the Eye Liquid Buds ($14) because they’re effective (they have Aloe and Vitamin E) and compact. The buds look like Q-tips and all you do is snap one side and the alcohol-free eye makeup removing formula flows to the other end of the bud..just pop one or two in your bag and you won’t have to worry about embarrassing smudges all night!

STARSMILE.jpg

Star Smile ($39) is a dual tipped twist pen with teeth whitener and lipstick (4 to choose from). This is great to use in combination with a Sonicare Toothbrush. You’ll see an improvement in a week…I guarantee it (or else feel free to voice your anger with me here!). Also the lipstick that Star Smile comes with is nice and creamy so you won’t have to worry about your lips drying-out, having to put on lip balm, and then reapplying color all over again — yay for an easy pout *mwah!

POLISHED.jpg

Polished Exfoliating Body Scrub ($37) — you get a lot for your money with this one. Luckily ModelCo’s packaging is so nice (I love their signature hot pink and glossy white colors), because the 430ml pot takes-up a nice chunk of space. The Scrub has a very exotic and somewhat spicy smell and it’s made with bamboo (indeed exotic — I’ve never tried a product with bamboo!), and hibiscus flower extracts. ModelCo suggests using this in combination with their Body Wash (Cleansed) and Body Cream (Glossed). I haven’t used the latter two, but I imagine that they would be similarly refreshing though I felt perfectly content and refreshed with just the Scrub (scrubs are my fav:) ).

You can purchase ModelCo at Henri Bendel, ModelCo, or Sephora. I hope you gals love these products as much as I do — let me know what you think!

  1. Their Tan Airbrush in a Can is one of the best out there. And I’ve tried almost every single self-tanning product out there.

  2. Their tanning products really are amazing! I’ve tried more tanning products than you can imagine (I am sooo pale)..I am actually planning on reporting on some of what I think are the best soon:)
