Tanner Krolle Sudie Python

tannerkroelle.jpg

My love of all things neutral colored lately continues, mostly because I am starting to feel like a rainbow sherbert these days what with wearing my orange ostrich birkin with every color from royal blue to jade green. Fun as it has been, enough is enough. Bring on the camel tones and grays! I came across this fabulous bag from Tanner Krolle; one of England’s greatest leather brands– founded in London in 1856 by Fredrick Krolle, a second-generation saddler. The Chanel group owned the brand until 2002, when it was bought back by a British group who promised to offer some of the best bags the UK has ever seen. It certainly looks like they made good on the promise, check out this lovely Sudie python stunner. I adore python and in this subtle shade of pale chocolate brown it really makes my mouth water.

It is fastened on the side with a clasp which gives it a tiny touch of ruching without looking ridiculous and the strap wraps all the way around the bottom base, such great details! And who would think to turn the bag upside down but when you do, the bottom is as lovely as the top! I love how the modern polished rings look on the python skin. Most designers don’t know how to properly embellish exotic skin, just a touch of shimmer is all you need. The handles can slide through the rings which cinches and closes the magnetic top; perfect for shoulder carry. The only drawback for me is it’s really big, 17″x13″, which means I’ll only be admiring it from afar. Sigh… Tanner Krolle Sudie Python Convertible Bag $3895 at eLuxury

  1. Now, THIS is a bag. I was in Las Vegas once and went to the Prada store in the Bellagio. It was the first time I had ever felt a python bag. What I love about the python is its lightness. It’s one of those skins, like eel, that is surprisingly durable, yet so lightweight. I know what you mean about color saturation as well. I think it speaks to my whole life in a sense. I splash a lot of color over everything. I love interior design with bold color a la Diana Vreeland, but every once in awhile I’ll open up an Architectural Digest or something and see a beige and cream room, and I’m just like, “Wow, that looks so comfortably quiet.” This bag is totally that feeling.

  2. Tina, This bag is beautiful!! I love the color. YOU are so right about all these bright colors Ive been seeing on myself as well…

This bag is on my list!!

Say Hi to Paris for me…hows the weather?!? lol…

PS..PJH, You are always very articulate. =)

  3. Not bad at all. It looks real easy and comfy and I think the size would suite me just fine. The bag looks better when you look it from the front though, and I do have a similar color python bag by YSL,naturally, which I´m very fond of,so I´ll leave this one for someone else.

  4. I like the easiness of this bag especially the look of the python. It’s casual luxury. But for the price? I don’t think it’s worth it…Maybe for Tina who has all the bags in the world… =)

Since I’m here, I am in a dilemma looking to purchase a bag right now. I am soo confused because there’s soo many options out there. I want a large white hobo…such as the Miu Miu Matelasse $1590 in White which I can’t find, Miu Miu Stamped Croc Tote but in a light grey color, The YSL Rive Gauche Tote crocodile-embossed in white patent leather $1895 which came in black as well which I think is as gorgeous. I especially like the long adjustable strap in these bags…soo boho chic. I originally wanted the Gucci Large Horsebit Chain Leather Hobo in a beautiful Ivory color, $1695 but It looks too plain for me, like there’s something missing. I love the YSL Muse bags as well.

I need fashion and function. I’m a mom of 3 boys all under the age of 5(4, 3 and 2 months old) so I need a large but stylish bag that I can carry while running after my boys. =)In addition, I want a handbag that I can use for a loong time…Even when I turn 40(I’m 29 by the way). I have a budget-under 2k so this is important for me because I only buy once a year….. Tina, anybody..Please help!!!

  5. Hi Bernice…The Miu Miu Matelasse is so GREAT!! I have them both white&black. I know the white recently went on sale so I am guessing they are prob sold out…the Muse is HOT as well I have 2 of them, But I dont think they are easy to carry with kids..I have 2 boys. but its a classic. The YSL Rive Gauche, is one of my FAV!! bags YSL made…I own it in black leather and (camel ostrich) yes it comes with the long strap as you said, which I also love, good thing to have when you need both hands to tend to your boys..I personally would not get croc embossed anything, stick with the plain leather. YSL makes so many bags..have you checked out the downtown bag? Gucci is not my Fav.

Well, Im not sure if I helped…Good Luck on your search!! You cant go wrong with any of the bags you listed..

  6. Gorgeous bag, but way too big…

Bernice, I vote for the MiuMiu Matelasse. I am using the white version this week and love it. Fun and functional (i have a 2.5 yo and a 10mo). YSL Muse is a fabulous classic, but may not be the best bag for running after your boys. Rive Gauche is fab, so is Bottega Veneta Julie bag. I agree with B, croc embossed is not so great, stick to leather or true exotics. Check out the Net-a-Porter sale, i bet you will find some great deals. Good luck!

  7. B and Julie!

Thanks for the advice. I would die to have the Miu Miu Matelasse in White but it might be sold out. Checked almost all websites…nothing. Unfortunately, I was looking at cute baby stuff online instead of purses when it went on sale. There’s one in Grey right now at Saks but not a fan of the color. I’m not liking any of the handbags that are on sale on net-a-porter.com…=( I love Prada as well but I’m leaning towards YSL more. I’m likin’ the Miu Miu Stamped Croc and YSL Patent Croc and I believe they’re both on sale but according to you guys, croc embossed is not a good investment. In case you guys wanna check it out:

Julie…The Bottega Venetta Julie Bag is gorgeous as well and roomy! But with the look of the bag and the price tag…I’m not so sure. But it is beautiful. =)

Guess I’ll be going to the YSL store tomorrow since some of their oversized bags have an adjustable strap which would be lovely considering that I have 3 boys to look out for.

I really appreciate your time guys…I’m glad to hear from other Bag Lover Mommies like moi’.

    Thanks,

    Bernice

  8. Bernice, I am not sure you should be getting a white bag to carry everyday, it is great to have if you own many bags..(not sure about your bag collection) if you like the Miu Miu then I would get the color you saw or try for black..I dont think the white will make it to when you turn 40 lol…if you want a bag that will take you through your everyday runs with your boys I would consider something more durable..the bags you listed are FAB!!(well except the croc embossed)which by the way you will NOT want to carry when your 40!..You want something classic, also you want something that you dont have to worry about when your out with the kids. park, market, shopping, traveling etc..take your time look around their are so many bags out there that are classic chic..I dont normally recommend the LV bag…Im not a big fan as I was 100 years ago..lol…however I did make a purchase last year of the Damier saleya GM (silver-grey-ish color)…I take it on the plane, park I dont have to worry about the bag! it is durable…its about $1200, So check it out.check out Louis Vuitton.com GOOD LUCK!

PS..The Miu Miu? not so easy to carry around when you have kids with you all the time…

  9. B…Thank you soo much for your wonderful advice…..I’m not a fan of LV and Gucci anymore either…everybody has it.

I just really need a big bag that is stylish and functional, that can be dressed up or down. I especially love those big handbags that have those extra straps since I need to be hands-free when I’m with my boys.

I’m a novice in collecting handbags, just started a few years ago. Don’t have an extensive collection yet so every purchase is important to me. I have one of my faves-a Large Chanel Slouchy Leather Bag with big CC’s on the sides with the ever famous silver chain straps and CC silver logo on the zipper, A small red suede Prada from a number of seasons ago, A gorgeous Gold Metallic Fendi Baguette, Couple of Dior Saddle Bags (was so into it ever since I saw SJP carrying it on Sex in the City), A Large Marc Jacobs Emily with a beautiful Oatmeal color, another Marc Jacobs Selma Flap Bag in a light pink color, A few LVs, A multicolored alma, Speedy 35, papillion-my first LV to name a few..know you don’t like them =), a silver Chloe Apple clutch, a Gucci Black Bamboo Tote from a couple of seasons ago, and other unmentionables that are in my closet…I was originally looking for a huge slouchy type of bag but choosing is so hard. But that being said, finally, I have narrowed down to these bags:

    * YSL Large Muse in a gorgeous Blue Grey (Which I saw on this website…Classic, worth the penny but no extra straps but I don’t care cuz it’s beautiful. )

    * YSL Large Muse in White

    * YSL Rive Gauche Tote Croc Embossed in White (For the amount of money, croc embossed…patent and not real leather per your suggestion, I dunno..)

    * Miu Miu Stamped Croc (Saw it in person, beautiful color and these have extra straps on it, so versatile cuz I can I dress it up or down…But is Miu Miu a good handbag to have?)

*Prada Cervo Pleats Shoulder Bag in White (Love the roominess and the straps which I’m looking for but again, for the price, it looks too simple for my style and in addition, is the YSL Muse a better buck for my money?)

There…I truly appreciate your time B…Thank you sooo much for your time and smart input…I hope to hear from you soon! Anybody’s suggestion is welcome as well…=)

    xoxoxo

  10. Bernice…I have the muse in choc brown and the white one….I think you ought to get the Muse in the Blue Grey…OMG!! its DEVINE!! Ive been lusting over it for months, but with 2 muse already I was thinking maybe not.But I might still get it…like you said no long strap but a beautiful bag (sigh) My girlfriend has the muse as well and not to sound mean but she doesnt have the skinnest arms and its hard for her to get the straps over her shoulder, not saying your arms are fat. Im just saying, have your tried the bag on? if your skinny minny then no worries it will fit just fine over your arm and stay there. So my vote is for the Muse blue grey!! You can even get your intials stamped on the bag, I have done with both of mine…You know what other bag I love is the Goyard bag Saint Louis it comes in so many diff colors and its classic

You can prob see them online if you google it..but you can only buy at Barneys…do you live in a town with Barneys? also check out the LV I told you about online

    Bye for now!! =)

  11. PS..Bernice..I like the Goyard, cuz not many peeps have them…and the Miu Miu is a good trendy bag more then the classic bag…

That is my opinion…Goyard (SL)is around $1000 and change

  12. Hi Bernice, Me again…I know Im obsessed.

Did u see the Beirn bag kelly posted last week?

its not a classic anything, but u must see the bag…I LOVE THE BAG!! @ $325 (HELLO?) I bought 3..Charlotte carried it in the movie (SATC)The turquoise color, which I got along with the red and the grey (natural) (my fav one) anyway u can get a better look on shopclothesline.com…I have a couple names of gals u can call in NY for them and they will ship to you…I cant enuf of these bags..Ive been carrying the grey non stop!! let me know!

  13. bernice,

i don’t know if any of the bags that you listed are perfect for you. the ysl muse doesn’t have a shoulder strap. faux croc is not a good investment. the prada bag is too plain. maybe you should keep looking.

eluxury has a cute tods messenger that looks like it would be great for the mom on the go.

    http://www.eluxury.com/estore/browse/product_detail.jsp?id=11784568

net-a-porter has a fab bottega that does have a removable shoulder strap.

good luck and let us know what you decide!

  14. Hello B!

After weeks of research, window shopping, blogging with you, and bugging my poor husband (said that I kept talking about these purses that he had a nightmare that these bags were running after him with a knife…lol… Even my boys know the names of these handbags, yikes!), I finally found the perfect bag for me…The YSL Muse!!!

I live in Orange County so I don’t have a Barneys close by(Barneys is in Bevery Hills). I walked inside the YSL Store in South Coast and was intending to purchase the Blue Grey. But when I tried it on, I dunno…loved the color on the internet, but not so much in person. It was more subtle, more on the greyish side. I loovve blue but for some reason, the color on me looked dull for my taste. I know it looks so effortlessly chic but for me, something was missing. And so, the saleslady brought me a Large muse in this gorgeous magenta color…My heart started beating fast. It had everything that I was looking for. That something that was missing from the grey blue, I found in this color. I’m such a girly-girl so this color is perfect for me. A bright bag transforms a white shirt and jeans or denim shorts perfect this summer with gold gadiator sandals…this bag gives a super casual outfit a modern edge. This beautiful berry color can easily transition into fall as well. The oversize version kinda loses its femininity so I got the Large one. The straps fits perfect on my shoulders and does not fall off. I can put my wallet, cellphone and other stuff on the inside pocket and still have room for my baby’s diapees and wipees and stuff. I love this bag B! I’m ecstatic. =)

Regarding the Beirn bags, I saw them when Kelly posted it…I adore them!!! They are stylish and functional especially for mommies that need a roomy and adorable bag. I ordered it online already…but thank you!!! Got the Grey one just because It’s more versatile compared to the other colors…Lucky you, you’ve got 3! You bought the best colors in my opinion. I adore the turquoise with a white summer dress and Loovvve loovve the red one…Too bad I can’t afford to buy all of them… =(

My friends and my mom have the Goyard bag Saint Louis and they love it. These bags are perfect for people who hate LV monograms like yourself. =)

So thank you B!!! I appreciate your time and wonderful advice. It was fun blogging with you. Thanks again…Catch you around!

  15. Julie…

Thanks for the advice! I know the Muse is not what I need right now for a casual, throw in everything kinda purse but it can pass and I fell in love with it…So I’ll be using the Beirn bag for that. =)I realized that I didn’t want to spend that much money on a handbag that I’ll be using everyday with my boys that’ll get stained with ketchup and their sticky snacks, right?

I love these bags that you suggested…I’ve been eyeing on that Tod’s messenger bag but in turquoise…soo roomy and pretty but fell in love with the Muse.

That Bottega Vennetta bag from net-a-porter is just Fab but is over my budget… =(

Thanks for the suggestions Julie…I’m so happy I discovered Bagsnob! I really appreciate it! Hope to see yah around again!

  16. Hi B…Its B…So glad you found a bag…I know what you mean about thinking you want one bag but fall totally in love with another.

Enjoy your bag, and listen I have small boys and carry some of my most expensive bags while they have ketchup hands…lol….a girl needs be stylish…and your right about my beirn turq bag with a white summer dress,Very Cute!! and you will LOVE LOVE the grey bag!!! Bye for Now!!!

PS…I LOVE ORANGE COUNTY!! I visit quite freguently!! funny story about your husband..lol
