Clinique Self-Sun: Touch of Bronze Moisturizing Body Lotion

BEST SELF TANNER EVER!! I’m pretty sure I have tried every self tanner ever made, which is my qualification for recommending this to you, my beauties! I am Swedish, German, Irish and French (aka: pale), and I need to be very careful when I use self tanners because they mostly turn me orange. Most of the time I mix self tanners with lotion to dilute them before I apply, otherwise my light skin will show every streak and every glop. Does this sound familiar? For my fellow naturally pale friends, this is exactly the product for you. This is the first product I can tell you delivered exactly what I had always hoped for, a faux day of sun bathing. The really great part about this is that you can totally notice a difference after the first application, but you can also continue to build it up by reapplying every few days or as needed…

…Read on for self-sun application tips and tricks 😉

6 Steps to a Great Tan…

1) Hop in the shower and exfoliate and shave.

2) Dry yourself off and apply your regular moisturizer on your elbows, knees, heels and between your fingers and toes and in the beds of your nails.

3) Apply Clinique Self-Sun like you would a moisturizer (including your face, trust me…otherwise you will end up with a white face and tan body!). Go light on your hands and feet!

4) Wash the palms of your hands, take your towel and dry your hands…then rub the damp towel on the area between your fingers, beds of your nails and your inner wrist.

5) Walk around in the buff for about 5 minutes, and avoid light clothes for about an hour or so.

* To help your tan to last longer, don’t exfoliate until you’re ready to make another application and use oil free moisturizer.

*Listen up: Some products claim NOT to turn you orange– they are lying. The chemical that causes your skin to change color is DHA, which chemically is a rust-like color. It is the amount of DHA in the product that makes the difference between a lovely glow and a horrible mistake.
