When I interviewed Angela Edgeworth,creator of pediped shoes, last month, she mentioned her girls love reading Fancy Nancy books. Yesterday, I bought my daughter Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy, her first book from the series. Now, I understand why Angela’s daughters are head over heels for Miss Nancy. We have read this book both nights before bed and multiple times in between. Fancy Nancy thinks and dresses like a princess or “fancy.” The stories emphasize vocabulary by using advanced words then simplifying them for little minds (i.e. spectacular is a fancy word for great). The illustrations are wonderful and the cover complete with sparkles. My daughter and I enjoy looking at and talking about the pictures as much as we enjoy reading the story.
