I absolutely love Nuti, their styles, skins and quality is exactly what Bag Snob looks for in a must have, but this bag suddenly brought that to a screeching halt! At first glance, this tote jumped out and filled me with desire, the shape is adorable and the grey is divine and of course, ostrich is my favorite. But on closer inspection, I noticed that the skin is from the part of the bird that is missing the bumps, so the entire side of the bag is inconsistent with the smooth parts. Also, the handles seem disproportionately small for the size and shape. It has a 5 1/2″ drop on the handles, uh… that doesn’t even make it past my underarm. It will fit under Tina’s arm but she’s the size of a 10 year old. And this is a 18 1/2″ bag!! What sense does that make for a tote? And then I see that the flap is not functional, it looks like that’s how you would get in the bag but it is just a style feature, and not even a good one. The bag still has the beautiful ruthium hardware and lush orange suede lining that I love but if that’s all it has going for it, then who cares? I’m not sworn off Nuti, they still have amazing pieces for Spring that I cannot wait to review but I thought this was the one line that could do no wrong but I guess there is no designer that strikes gold every time. And at $4100 it is the highest priced Nuti bag. Available at Saks
