I have the metallic Isolde bag (left) and it might surprise some of you because it is a huge departure from my normal aesthetics but I found that stepping away from my comfort zone is liberating and exciting. Sometimes a change of pace is a good thing – it allows me to question my taste and possibly expand my wardrobe =) I am not wild about the stamped croc but this bag has really interesting details that I really like – the outer pockets are magnetic and fits my phone, super convenient! There is a hanging tag with a mirror inside like Balenciaga has (so I can check my face discretely and without fussing with my compact). It is actually gold and silver which gives it more texture. I am totally intrigued by the designer behind this bag, Janet Collin. We love introducing new designers and the back stories of each are always interesting. Janet has designed for Mulberry (back when they were super cool), Matthew Williamson and Banana Republic. And we hear she is now at Louis Vuitton. Maybe she can talk some sense into Marc Jacobs. She is a schooled designer having gone to the Design Academy of Eindhoven in the Netherlands as well as at Les Ateliers in Paris. Her muse is her ballerina mother who danced in Vienna and was always dressed in couture with matching bags and gloves. This Isolde bag from her debut Spring/Summer 2007 collection is available at LuxCouture, the exclusive retailer in the US. $1550. Agatha (ivory bag on right) is $1400 also at LuxCouture.
