Etro Woven Coat: Fashion Doesn’t Care About Your Schedule

etro_woven_coat.jpg

Wait, what season is it? It can’t be fall already! I’m still waiting for hot weather, but here is Etro to remind us that fashionistas must plan ahead! This woven wool and acrylic-blend – and yes, lined – modified peacoat (I’m burning up just thinking about it) has a super-flattering cut and faux-leather trimmed patch pockets to finish it off right. Fitted with a softly cinched waist, it’s as sharp and polished as a jacket can be. Not tweed or herringbone, but a unique weave that is just as sophisticated. Actually, the spunkier vibe of this granular texture is so much better than plain, old “sophisticated.” Only fashion could make me wish for fall before I’ve even hit the beach! On Net-a-Porter for $2,220.

Pair with: For every lady, you need a tramp. And maybe Yves Saint Lauren’s linen-and-chocolate crocodile platforms could ease this coat into very early fall dressing.

  1. Love the look of these, but the materials used in US$2,000+ clothes, acrylic, linen, faux leather? Seriously!

  2. Well, it is still cold in parts of the US (at least the parts I find myself in, unfortunately), so this coat isn’t out of place. But I agree with Mavin – $2200 does not equal acrylic and faux leather. The specs say 39% wool, 23% acrylic, 16% cotton, 12% nylon, 10% rayon. For that price, I want all natural fibers and skins. Acrylic, nylon and vinyl do not hold up (or keep you warm and comfortable) like wool and leather. Such fabrics are perfectly acceptable at H&M (with H&M prices), but here? No thanks.
