The Row Comet Cropped Leather Pants

I just bought my first pair of The Row pants and I am hooked. I will be the first to admit that I was completely biased and turned off by the fact that this line is designed by the Olsen twins. And really really pricey!! I certainly do not want to dress like them but when I put on The Row, it is nothing like the oversized bohemian slop you see them wear in gossip magazines. Well, I am of normal size so stuff is never sloppily oversized on me. But I digress. Here are the important points – a) they use the most amazingly fabulous fabrics the world has ever seen; b) the tailoring is godly; c) whoever their designer is needs to get a raise. These leather pants are the most ridiculously sick things I have ever seen. The leather is so supreme and super soft, Chanel and Bottega lambskin bags are jealous. The fit is sheer perfection. And the cut, you will look like a fashion goddess no matter what you wear with it. These are not the 80’s leather pants, do not get all hard core on them, blouse it, sweater it, tee shirt it or even throw a cardigan on it. Then amazing heels. Repeat daily. Yes, leather pants you can wear more than once a week. Crazy!! At Net-a-Porter for $1700.

**NOTE FROM TINA: I bought these pants last week and was so excited to wear them for a television appearance. I put them on the night before filming to see how they looked and they ripped in half! Jump to see the photo!

Ok, so I’m all of 94 pounds these days so it’s not as if I shoved my fat ass into pants that were too small– I got size XS which fit perfectly. I put them on, bent over to get my shoes to wear with them and I heard a loud ripping sound. My 6 year old was standing by me and he said “Mom, you BROKE your pants!”

I have no idea what happened here because it wasn’t even the seams that ripped, it was the actual leather! I took them back of course and when they offered to find me another pair I declined. I am really upset and want an explanation for this shoddy workmanship!

  1. I know, right? I am so glad I decided to try on my clothes the night before the segment.

So pissed because I loved these pants!!!

  2. I actually went a size bigger, I’m usually XXS (size 0). Hoping this was a defective product and that it doesn’t reflect The Row clothing as a whole because I love the line!

  3. Your daughter’s comment made me lol! But, those pants are the business! I would be upset also! I would try another pair just in case.
