A few months ago I wrote about discovering Ellis Fass and how much I loved her lip products and their unique applicator. Now Faas has come-out with an eye collection that uses the same sleek paintbrush-like application. The eye collection includes “Creamy Eyes,” “Milky Eyes,” and “Lights.” The Lights collection really stood-out and popped to me, so I opted to try E303, which is a high-shine bronze. A note of caution, when I first used the pen I turned the back of the pen with no color coming out on the built-in brush for so long that I thought there was something wrong with my pen. I reached for the box to see if I was doing something wrong, unfortunately while I was doing that I was still turning the pen – a few seconds later it was literally dripping with color! So just be aware that you might have to turn a bit the first time you use the product.
The color is awesome. Really intense, paint-like and it totally pops. I put a little black liner to balance the intense color – I would say the 303 shade I tried is even brighter than how it appears on the site. The color literally looks like it’s wet paint on your lids even though it dries instantly. I would suggest however applying it in moderation if you have sensitive skin, because the first time I applied it my lids were a bit red afterward, a problem that disappeared the next time when I laid on the color in a more controlled manner (you really only need a thin layer to achieve a vivid color).
While I’ve been wearing my Light on its own, you can layer any of the shades over non-shimmery shadow.
I have one of these in the lightest color – a kind of warm silver – and I love it too! The pal I was with had the lid reaction you speak of, so do exercise caution, these things are potent, but totally worth it! Extremely unique and very beautiful. I turn the button a few times before I put the wand away so it is ready to use the next time! I can’t wait to get another one!
One of them looks like a liquid version of MAC Club eyeshadow! I might have to order one of these-they look so good!
