I’ve never had long hair and apparently I don’t know how to take care of it. It’s not like I blow dry it daily or even brush it (yes, that’s right, go ahead and judge) but my ends are a disaster! It’s frayed and dry – like crispy dry. I obviously need to get it trimmed but in the meantime I got desperate and ran to the nearest CVS to look for some kind treatment to get me through the day (I was looking for the VO5 oil but couldn’t find it, do they not sell those anymore?). I love Neutrogena so I spent a few extra minutes in front of that section and picked up this Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask. I thought, “Oooh, Triple Moisture and it has the word ‘Recovery’ on it. And it’s only $9. Done and done”.
I got home, wet my hair, took several liberal scoops and saturated my hair with it. The instructions say to keep it on for 3-5 minutes after shampooing but I improvised – I wrapped my hair in a towel and did some work, made dinner, did whatever I do around the house and an hour and a half later, I finally hit the shower. I shampooed and applied some more, this time for 3-5 minutes. I was afraid to blow dry it so I let it air dry. I am not at all kidding you or exaggerating but I had an event to attend that night and when I showed up to my girlfriends house (who is a serious hair snob) she said, “Your hair looks great, it’s so shiny!”. I was like, “What are you talking about??”, and ran immediately to the nearest mirror. Lo and behold, my hair miraculously whipped back in to shape and was in fact lustrous and beautiful!! I will still get that trim but I am buying stock in this mask!! Now I know, to keep long hair healthy and gorgeous, use frequently and liberally. Available at most drugstores or buy online at Amazon for $9.69.
After reading this I ran to Duane Reade to purchase. It is heavenly. Its better than any hair mask I have EVER used – pytho, fresh, etc. Thank you, thank you for saving my dry winter locks.
