I love jewelry with some weight to it. I sometimes joke that the reason so many of my handbags and such a big portion of my jewelry collection is so heavy, is because in case I ever get mugged, I’ll have something to whack someone over the head with! Janis Savitt’s collection is heaven if you’re like me and a fan of chunky baubles. Savitt is a born and raised New Yorker and while still in high school, she fabricated pieces for Van Cleef and Arpels, Cartier, Henri Bendel, and Bloomingdales – incredible!
Since, the designer has been nominated twice for the CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year Award and her work has been on the runways, of among others, Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, and Vera Wang. I’m eyeing a few of her pieces at the moment, but my favorites include her Triple Knot Necklaces ($588) and her Gold Necklaces with Triple Rings ($375).
